The Alumalux 180 Linear Opening Roof

The Alumalux Opening Roof System, boasts a cutting-edge spiral drive system that employs a marine-grade stainless steel hex bar to rotate when the motor is engaged. The machined aluminum gearbox with brass gears is specifically designed to connect the Somfy tubular motor to the stainless steel hex bar, resulting in a sophisticated system that functions seamlessly and without tension.

Additionally, each louver is fitted with self-lubricated bearings that are placed within a concealed drive and passive system. The motor is attached to the gearbox, which, in turn, is connected to the hex rod. The bearings glide over the hex bar, thus creating the entire drive system, which is entirely hidden within our extruded aluminum frame and protected from the elements and hidden out of sight.

Apart from the revolutionary spiral drive gear system, our louvered roof system also features elegant styles, including louvers with angled edges that provide a tongue and groove look and gutter angles that offer an elegant picture frame appearance. Our Alumalux Opening Roof System is unparalleled and distinctive from all others.

In contrast, our competitors employ external gears or no gears at all, securing the louvers to the frame with metal-to-metal bars and clips. Metal bars are also used to link all louvers together. Only one external motor operates all the louvers, which results in the motor bearing the weight of all the louvers. 180 Linear Louver Blade

The Alumalux Opening Roof captures and compliments the look of today’s architecture. With Bold angular lines and sharp, cleanly defined Edges, the flat blades unique design sets it apart from the competition. The edges of each blade are angled at 45 degrees, giving a tongue and grooved effect when closed. This opening roof uses a Spiral Pivot Operating System or alternatively it can be hand Operated using a custom built crank and gearbox. All the mechanisms which includes the bearings for each blade, Marine Grade Stainless steel hex-bar, Hidden Gearbox and Motor are all hidden inside the Framing system. Hidden from the elements and from view, this is why the Alumalux OpeningRoof System is Unique and far more advanced than any louvered roof available today. Our gutters are 7-1/4” extra wide on all 4 sides providing maximum water protection, and neatly angled to provide a Picture frame effect.
